Wisteria Sinensis

 Wisteria sinensis, commonly known as Chinese Wisteria, is a stunning deciduous climber with mid green foliage that completely covers the vine throughout spring to autumn. Chinese wisteria produces pendulous racemes of lovely perfumed flowers up to 30cm long that are lilac-mauve in colour during spring, often before the foliage appears making a stunning flower display. Ideal as a feature on large supports such as a pergola or fence. Also easy to train into a standard as a central tree-like garden feature or can be trained into a bonsai. Regular pruning during summer to control growth and encourage the development of many short spurs that will produce more flowers in Spring. Provide strong supports for the vine to grow onto, as wisteria becomes woody with age. For enhanced growth and flowering we recommend using Troforte M All Purpose Slow Release fertiliser. Wisteria Amethyst Falls grows to 7m height and width without pruning.

Water: Water well and often when freshly planted. Heat and drought tolerant once established.

Sun: Full sun, strong wind protection.

Soil: Rich, moist, free draining soils. Enrich with organic matter for an added boost to growth. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner prior to planting.
