Commonly known as the Pencil Pine, this conifer is a well known classic. Forming dense dark blue-green foliage in a tight upright columnar habit, pencil pines are a widely versatile narrow large tree. It’s perfectly suited to lining feature walls, driveways, paths and fences. They can also be grown in large pots. Frost hardy and low maintenance. Keep plants well mulched and provide additional deep waterings during dry spells and heatwaves. Plant 1m apart for a hedge or create an avenue by planting 4-7m apart. Pencil pines reach 15m height and 1m width at maturity.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted. Drought tolerant once established. Mulch regularly to prevent moisture loss and keep roots cool.

Soil: Fertile, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
