This particular variety, Magnolia Little Gem, is a dwarf form with dark green glossy leaves and brown velvety undersides. Little gem has the advantage of full sized blooms from a smaller sized tree; perfect for those with limited space.
Water: All magnolias need daily watering after planting and weekly supplemental watering for the first couple of seasons.

Soil: Magnolias prefer sandy or clay soils. If growing little gem magnolia in pots, you'll want to choose a potting mix that is slightly acidic, loamy and moist.
