Cardboard Plant - Zamia Furfuracea Cycad
Zamia furfuracea is a very popular cycad in gardens and landscapes. From the central crown, long fronds emerge with upright dark green leaves, making it a great addition to tropical or modern gardens alike. Well suited to exposed conditions, the cardboard plant tolerates winds and coastal positions. An excellent plant for borders, in pots and containers or by the pool. There’s no need to fertilise if a good quality chunky mulch is used. Zamia furfuracea will grow to reach 1-2m height and width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted and during warmer seasons. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.
Sun: Full sun, tolerant of part shade.
Soil: Fertile, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
