Bromeliad - Alcantarea Silver Plum
This stunning super large bromeliad is the perfect feature specimen to add colour and wonder to the modern garden. A slow grower, its large glossy silver leaves with dark wine red undersides form a tight vase rosette and a real statement. Bromeliads are monocarpic, meaning they spend years growing big enough to make one large floral display, before dying and giving way to their offsets to take over. The flower display of this Alcantarea takes about one year from start to finish. For enhanced growth and flowering we recommend using Troforte M All Purpose Slow Release fertiliser at half recommended application rate. Alcantarea Silver Plum reaches 1.5m height and 1.5m width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted and during warmer seasons. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.
