Waldecks has been part of Western Australian gardening culture for more than five decades. The business was established in 1968 and changed hands in 1986 to the family that continues to lead it today. As a family-owned and operated business, we are proud to remain independent and deeply connected to the community we serve.

We believe that garden centres should be more than places where plants are sold. They should be inspiring environments that encourage people to connect with nature, their homes and their communities.

Perth gardens

Perth has a unique gardening culture shaped by our climate, landscapes and coastal lifestyle. We believe our role is to celebrate this connection to place, helping people create gardens that respond to the environment around them and suit the way they want to live in them.

Growing our own

Most of the plants in our stores are grown at our own production nursery north of Perth, rather than bought in. Growing them ourselves means we control the conditions and the standard they are held to, and it means they spend their whole lives in the climate they are going into. Nothing leaves the nursery until it is right.

The result is resilient, high quality plants that are ready for the garden when they reach you, at a size that makes a difference from the day they go in. It is the best possible start for a Perth garden.

Growing our own also means we can respond. When customers start asking for something, we can put it into production rather than waiting to see whether it turns up on a wholesale list, and we can grow it in the numbers Perth actually wants.

Our people

The knowledge, enthusiasm and generosity of the people who work here are what make Waldecks what it is, and they are the reason people keep coming back.

When someone asks us a question, they are trusting us to actually know. Bring us whatever you have: the strip down the side of the house that bakes all afternoon, the corner under a tree where nothing has ever taken, or a plant that has started to fail and you cannot work out why. Tell us where it is going and what it has to put up with once it is there, and we will work out what belongs in it. Don't know what is eating your plant? We do.

Landscapers and designers

We work with landscapers, garden designers, architects and interior designers across Perth, supplying plants and pottery for projects of every size. Because we grow our own, we can supply advanced and established stock at the size a design asks for, in the quantities a scheme needs, and in the consistent quality that mass planting depends on. Where something has to be grown to order, we can do that too. Trade access is available on application.

Better gardens

Waldecks exists to inspire better gardens and stronger connections to the places we live. That is what we have been doing in Perth since 1968, and it is what we will keep doing, one garden at a time.
